Innovation and growth, vision and passion: these are some of the pillars that have guided the evolution of Angelini Technologies - Fameccanica, inspiring every milestone on the path that has made the company part of Angelini Industries an internationally recognized excellence in the field of industrial technology.
With more than 1,200 active patents and 1,300 production plants built in 72 countries around the world, Angelini Technologies - Fameccanica is one of the most innovative companies in Italy and beyond.

The Abruzzo-based company puts skills, quality and excellence at the service of people, designing solutions capable of improving daily life and generating a positive impact. A concrete commitment, which translates into highly specialized activities: in the converting sector, through the design and implementation of automated production lines for consumer goods, and in the field of automation and robotics, where the application of advanced technologies makes it possible to increase the efficiency of production and logistics chains.
In 2025, Angelini Technologies - Fameccanica celebrates 50 years of passion and progress. An occasion to highlight an industrial tradition built over time, retracing the stages that have defined its identity and growth, and to clearly state the strategic direction for the years to come. All under the banner of the claim 50 Years of Firsts.
Founded in 1975 by the Angelini family and initially made up of just 12 people, Fameccanica stood out from the very beginning for its forward-thinking approach. Its journey began with the design of the world’s first fully automatic production line for diapers, equipped with an integrated bagging and cartoning system (CAA).
In the decade that followed, the company consolidated its position through a series of inventions, including FA-X, a revolutionary machine for the production of shaped diapers with adhesive. An innovation that sets a new standard for the entire industry.
The late 1990s represents a period of intense growth, culminating in the establishment of an equal joint venture between Angelini Industries and P&G and the strategic shift from traditional mechanics to mechatronics. In this context, FGC was born, an advanced system for high-speed production of absorbent hygiene products, designed from an original Fameccanica patent and developed through a visionary open innovation approach.
Entry into the new millennium marks an important phase of international expansion, with the opening of plants in countries such as China and North America, confirming an increasingly solid and widespread presence in global markets. There is also no shortage of pioneering inventions during this period : with Project B.E.S.T., the application of asymmetrical elastic ears on diapers is introduced, with no waste and less glue.
Starting in 2010, the first experiment in the field of robotics takes place, through the creation of the Liquid Primary Packaging (LPP) Unit. In these years, attention to sustainability also translates into the development of Glueless technology: a project focused on reducing the use of glue through ultrasonic welding techniques to improve products and production processes.
In the last five years, Fameccanica has also embarked on a path in the field of logistics, opening new perspectives in the application of robotics to converting, with the aim of simplifying processes. In 2022, Angelini Industries chose to regain 100 percent control of the company by acquiring 50 percent from P&G. A strategic move, strongly desired, in full awareness of Fameccanica’s great potential. A moment that marks the beginning of a new phase, inaugurated by the launch of Greenpackt: a revolutionary packaging that paves the way for increasingly sustainable solutions.
When expertise becomes success
